New Book Celebrating 100 Years of Fordson, Ford and New Holland Tractor Conversions by Blueforce
Designed as a companion to the 100 Years Of Fordson, Ford and New Holland Tractors that Blue Force published in 2017 to mark a century of Ford and New Holland tractors, this new volume follows the same format in being a large A4 size hardback book with 528 pages and over 1400 full colour photographs, many taken specially for this project.
It is unique in that we go through a hundred years of conversions based on Ford and New Holland tractors in chronological order, first showing the Fordson, Ford or New Holland tractor as originally produced and then the various conversions built using it as a skid unit. In this way we see how the conversions evolved along with the Ford tractor itself.
The book is split into four sections. Part 1 is about the conversions based on the Fordson tractors from the Model F of 1917 through to the New Performance range of 1963, Part 2 is the largest section as it is all about the Ford tractor conversions, from the Ford 9N of 1939 through to the Series 40 of 1991 and encompasses a huge range of different machines. Part 3 looks at the few conversions using New Holland tractors from 1991 to the present day and Part 4 looks at how the conversions have been preserved and are used at working days and events.
Two appendices look at the various companies involved with a brief history of each and also loads of period advertising from the various conversion builders through the years.
All the famous names are here including Chaseside, County, Doe, Mailam, Matbro, Muir-Hill, Northrop and Roadless plus many, many more that are not so well known and from many different countries around the globe. Everyone is bound to find something of interest within the pages of this large book.
